The ’Noles struck back in the sixth, taking a 2-1 lead on an RBI-single from Justin Gonzalez that sent McGee in for a run.

Things got tougher in the bottom of the frame when the Pack exploded for four runs to take a 5-2 lead.

Tarran Saray ripped a two-run home run down the right-fi eld line to re-cord the fi rst earned runs of the series for N.C. State. McGee’s day on the mound ended after 5.2 innings in which he allowed six hits, four earned runs and three walks along with four strikeouts.

Chris Diaz ended the in-ning for the Pack with a two-run double off FSU reliever Mack Waugh.

FSU tied the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the inning

on the heels of a three-run homer from James Ram-sey, who now has eight homers on the year.

In the eighth, Lopez was the man once again for FSU. The catcher doubled to right center to score Gil-martin and Gonzalez and give the ’Noles a 7-5 advan-tage heading into the fi nal frame.

Brian Busch and Daniel Bennett came up big for the ’Noles, closing out the fi nal two innings of the game and preserving the 7-5 victory for FSU.

Lopez had two hits on the afternoon, and Gonza-lez, and Boyd chipped in two apiece as well.

As of press time, Florida State was still into their third and fi nal game of the weekend set.
