Project Review of Yantai Beer Asahi (Qingdao)

Brief Introduction
A Lehui Nanjing made 40,000 BPH draft beer packaging
line and other main equipment for pasteurized beer
production have been delivered to Tsingtao Asahi’s
Yantai Brewery in March, 2015. Main equipment includes a
double-end bottle washer, Pneumatic-electronic filling
valve steri le f i l ler , a CIP system, an energy-saving
pasteurizer and so on. The packaging line has been put
into operation smoothly since July 19, 2015.
Double-end Washer
Lehui double-end bottle washer adopts Belgium Crown-Baele technology. Crown-Baele is a filling & pack-
ing machine manufacturer in Belgium with more than 100 years of experience in manufacturing and
service, and it has been the industry’s No.1 brand as always.
The client list of Crown-Baele includes: Heineken, Carlsberg, SAB Miller, Castle group, AB-InBev, Coca-Cola
and other valuable Belgian local enterprises.
Crown-Baele bottle washer technology helps Lehui increase washer capacity up to 12,000 BPH , and reduce
power consumption by 60-70%, water consumption by 20-30%, steam consumption by 50-60%. Reliability
of the washer has been significantly enhanced.
Advantages of Lehui washer are as follows:
Triple pre-spray design reduces bottle breakage, prolongs caustic useful time and aids continuous
production.
Caustic tanks adopt single-loop design, which enables fast warm-up and flexible temperature
control. With balanced main chain design, power required for driving the chain is effectively
reduced.
Chain rail adopts floating design, which is easy to repair & replacement.
Reliable rotate-sprays align well with bottles , easy to maintain and clean.
Label extractor adopts drum design with good label remove effect. With label conveyor device
and hydraulic presser, discharged spent label contains less moisture and is of less volume and
easy to transfer.
Double-end Washer
Special duckbill type bottle pocket can adopt different pitch according to bottle diameter. All metal
bottle pocket and carrier design effectively guarantee use life and strength.
Bath tanks are designed with round transition from wall to bottom. A sloped bottom to aid thorough
discharge.
Pre-rinse, final-rinse boxes and top of caustic bath are all stainless made to prevent corrosion.
Multi-drive system, different from cross-coupling of mechanical transmission, greatly reduces main
drive power consumption, and is automatically controlled.
Between caustic #1 and caustic #6 there is a PHE system, which effectively reduces thermo-energy
consumption.
Machine surface & caustic tank bottom are insulated,for safety, good looking and energy saving.

EP-filler uses Lehui-developed K-type pneumatic-electronic filling valves. This technology
combines convenience/flexibility of electronic filling valves and stability/durability of mechanical
valves, with high fill accuracy.
Lehui EP-Filler adopts isotonic pressure filling principle. Fill height is controlled by vent tubes.
Multi-counter pressure and vacuum are available according to clients’ specification.
K-type filling-valve comes with a simple structure which is easy to clean. Valve stem, vacuum
valvesand pressure relief valves are bellows sealed, preventing environmental bacteria from
infecting product when valves operate. K-type valve is suitable for filling draft beer.
Filler
Filling steps are precisely controlled by PLC. Change of filling process can be achieved by simply call-up
of pre-set parameters stored in the computer. Filling parameter is not affected regardless speed. At low
speed filling, the vacuum, counter pressure and fill height stay the same as at high speed. Pressure only
relieves when filling is complete.
K-type filling valve has shorter vacuum channels. As a result, there is less resistance for thorough
vacuum and less dissolved oxygen pickup.
Lehui EP-filler adopts separated transmission which is synchronized via variable frequency drive. Two
gear motors adopt SEW synchronous with encoder tracking technology. The motor for filling station is
driving while the motor for crowning running passively. Filler speed is controlled via a variable
frequency motor. Height adjustment is motorized.
Filler
All part which would contact with filling media is made of SUS304 stainless steel for food hygienic reason.
Lehui EP series fillers adopt filling & capping station mono-block design. Adjustment of filling process is
easily accomplished via HMI. Height adjustment of beer chamber, crowner can be accomplished via HMI
as well.
High pressure foaming device adopts imported piston pump & heater witch are stable and reliable.There
are low pressure and low temperature alarm systems installed. An automatic proportional (6 levels)
control ensures filling pressure is synchronized with filler speed to reduce bottle neck air, reduce oxygen
pick-up.
Filler
Stainless steel plates are installed between filling valves. Lehui EP fillers are equipped with bottle burst
monitoring device as well as multi-angle jetting function. The angle of jets can be manually adjusted.
Beer chamber is equipped with a separated pressure relief cavity. Pre-exhausted foam is centralized to the
relief cavity before a bottle exits. Counter pressure foam collection is under counter pressure, which
reduces environmental pollution.
Lehui EP-filler adopts SIEMENS SS vacuum pump, with a circulation water tank made of SUS 304 stainless
steel and an automatic temperature replenishment system.
EP-filler valve array adopts hygienic design, with double-seat valves, online steam sterilization, online
dissolved oxygen meassuring, OG and CO2 measuring and so on.
Lehui EP-filler adopts centralized lubrication system. Lubrication interval can be set accordingly. A foam
cleaning system is included and the operation can be set via HMI.
Pasteurizer
Lehui Pasteurizer adopts tunnel spray, double-deck, and net chain driving. This machine has 12
temperature zones and each zone is equipped with a low power pump. A large diameter plastic nozzle
spray system is installed, in both upper and lower deck to achieve uniform spray and to eliminate blind
spots.
Lehui Pasteurizer features a centralized heating design, a lowly positioned pipeline system with excellent
thermal performance, low noise and easy to maintain and repair. It is also equipped with a broken glass
remove device to prevent glass pieces from blocking the sprays nozzles.
Lehui Pasteurizer has equipped with temperature control and automatic PU control dual control mode,
and two modes can switch alternatively. PU control mode also has an automatic shutdown function to
automatically adjust spray temperature of hot zones. Over the length of downtime it automatically adjusts
temperature of hot zone, to ensure PU control within a certain range, so as to ensure uniform
pasteurization.
