one normally used by the student as part of the instructional program.

You MUST test ANY student receiving accommodations in rooms SEPARATE

from general education students.

FORMER LEP students are NOT permitted LEP accommodations.

Translation of passages, items, prompts, and tasks are NOT permitted.

Former LEP students who are 1 year (F1) or 2 years (F2) exited from an LEP program, must be identified on answer document for AYP purposes

See Appendix D

Extra time is added to EACH individually timed

part:

40 min Part = 60 min Part.

Grades 3 – 8 have Spanish Versions of NJ ASK available.

All questions on the test and all ancillary items are written in Spanish.

ALL calculators must have minimum acceptable functions.

REMOVE instructional manuals & function reference sheets before testing.

Memories & programs MUST be cleared before & after testing.

Calculator Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Functions

Algebraic Logic – automatically follows standard order of mathematical operations.

Memory – at least one memory cell.

Clearing Mechanism.

Students do not need graphing calculators.

3rd and 4th Grade – ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide

5th and 6th Grade – ability to manipulate fractions without converting to decimals

7th Grade – ability to find whole number powers of real numbers

8th Grade – ability to do powers and roots of any degree

Additional Calculator Functions

In grades 3-4, calculators will be permitted on one of the remaining timed parts of the test. The remaining parts of the test consist of MC and ECR questions.

In grades 5-8, calculators will be permitted on three of the remaining timed parts of the test. The remaining parts of the test consist of MC and ECR questions.

Students with IEPs allowing the use of a calculator or manipulatives, may use them during the MC and ECR parts of the test (non calculator active) if the accommodation is documented in the IEP
