Visual InventoryThe Black Dog Freehouse

by Alyshia McDonald

Hey There! Here you will find a document that contains a bit of brainstorming for the new Black Dog Freehouse website. In going through this together, I hope we can establish a starting point for your website.

ConceptThe concept of your website is like an idea or theme that unifies its design and its content. It gives the user a better understanding of your brand by conveying a particular message.

Concept Come. Sit. Stay. This idea is people centered and focuses in on the interactions that take place in the bar. Can this concept make the user feel like The Black Dog is THE place to get connected?

Concept Drink Special. This concept keeps people informed. Using strategic layout and typography you can get the users attention. Could this method be useful in communicating all of the most important Black Dog news?

ToneThe tone is that feeling or vibe that you want your site to give off. This sparks the connection between the user and your site.

tone Pub Tradition. The feeling of a friendly neighbourhood pub is one that most users can relate to. Its familiar and welcoming. Would you consider this tone something would allow users to see all of The Black Dog’s old school pub charm?

tone Illustrative. This tone is totally honest and leaves the user with a genuine feeling about your brand. Handmade graphics ‘are what they are’ and provide the user with an opportunity to take it or leave it.

tone Vintage. This tone is all about feeling nostalgic and making the old new again. Vibes of the prohibition era in these examples connect the users to a feeling that makes the most of what they’ve got.

ColorThe color in your site tells the story of your brand. It is also a powerful method of communicating a mood or tone.

Color The color scheme of this website utilizes a dark background with bright pops of color. This can be extremely useful to highlight important information on your site.

Color Both of these sites have a minimal, black and white color scheme in which the design relies on typography and various other graphic elements to add depth.

Color Neutral and organic color schemes suggests warm and welcoming environment. Is this what is needed to have to make The Black Dog inviting to everyone who visits the site?

Let Me Know What you think!I want your website to rock so its time to let me know what you think of the ideas presented here. If you like or dislike any of them, I want to know why. Give me a call or shoot me an e-mail as soon as possible. I’m excited to begin working on this project. Cheers!
