QwichesQwiches is a small café located Vijay crossroad AhmadabadIt is an industrial theme café serving a small menu. It covers approx. 200sq. M

It is divided into two part it also has a mezzanine floor.It has capacity of 60 people at a time.It has unitary air condensing.

The requirements of this café are very less as the menu is very small and easy to make recipes

The kitchen is small covers of total are.

As soon as we enter service and billing counter is in the 1st left of the door and in front of kitchen.The café has self-service system. We have to order our food at counter and then provide a disc that buzz when our order is ready and we have to take our food to our sitting from counter. This help to keep billing counter less crowed

Walls are covered with exposed cement work and one wall is roughly painted white above exposed brick work (no plaster or wall finish is done). One wall is covered by corrugated aluminium sheet painted black to give industrial look.Walls are full of paintings, artefacts, wall arts, etc.

Furniture is mainly of wood and metal. Sitting arrangement is bit different than normal caféMost of the sitting on a round disc shape pillow covered by red rexine. And provide with a square wooden block

The upper part has high raised sitting. There are wooden chairs and few of the multi sitting chairs have wheels on base so it’s easy to move and doesn’t make sound they are accompanied by metal tables. Tables also have wheels

Instated of creating a false celling they used pipes and chain for giving industrial look.Lights used at centre are of huge bulb shape. And mezzanine floor has small spot lights

There are few metal steps to go to upper part of café and there is a bridge connecting upper part to mezzanine floor.

There are few black boards near sitting where people can write comments or can be used to play games.

Floor is covered by roughly polished Kota stone and wood. Mezzanine floor has cement flooring with red ceiling.They have huge glass penal on mezzanine floor serves natural light inside and are supported by wooden frame. Frames are also used as book rack.

There are lot of level difference on ground floor.They have a rest room of the above level. They serve in disposables so there is no requirement of utility.

System of café It is a small café serving 50 people each day .They believe in guest are god.They main motive of this café is to serve to everyone without seeing rich or poor.Café do not have any billing system, “Pay from your heart”.

Entry.The café is on 4th floor of shopper’s plazaThere are two entry to the café 1 main entry right from lift and 2nd back entry from stair way passes through GramshreeAt main entrance is decorated by beautifully carved wooden articles and to the right of lift is huge wooden door.Every guest is welcome in Indian style by doing ‘tillak’ of forehead of guest.

The café is partially covered and partially open There is brown vitrified tiles of size 15 x 15 in entrance There is a wooden table to the right which has a huge wooden box on it in which one can drop money and anyone in need of money can take some and drop back when they have enough to pay back.There is a wooden swing in front of the table as waiting area.

Leaf

There is a wooden stage for live performance.There are 24 sitting outside. There is a tree made up terracotta every leaf has some massage on it.

There is no fix menu at this café. Menu is decided at end of service on day before. Menu is written on board that is kept on sage and in one corner sitting area

Inside sitting are parted apart with glass partition.There are 20 sitting inside. Furniture is made up of cane jute bamboo and metal..Roof is covered by corrugated terracotta tiles.

There is a small library made from book by donation. One can take any book and keep that we have.There are fixed French window

Unitary air condensing for interior part and movable fan for open sitting.white CFL light and white tube light for both sitting.Walls are painted white with smooth finish for inside exposed brick work for exterior.Flooring is same for whole café.

They have open kitchen and washing area opposite to stage.They also have kept lantern to give look of village .

Wash area

They do not have any fix staff other then 1 cook. All the workers are volunteers.

Conclusion Both the café have different concept.Although both the café’s are from same city.Both have different tradition1st café has western menu and other have

Indian. Even same with looks 1st has bit Morden look

and 2nd has Indian look.Art work are different.Service system is also different.

every café have few basic requirementsKitchen/pantry Sitting Rest room

Now we can say every café doesn’t require billing counter or utility.
