Giving birth and assisting a birth, is neither a miracle nor a routine/mechanical thing to do. For a child to be

brought to life many partnerships of many kinds are needed. Because it takes time, one should think about the before and the after. Things do not necessarily end

up with a baby being born: once there is a baby, it needs to be taken care of. There is no point in trying to manage and predict the outcome. However a lot can

be done through companionship and caring.
