Canva's Basic Tutorial◦Basic tutorial is available the first time you log in. It is a quick and easy walk-through that will take a little over a minute to finish.

◦You get to try the basic editing features of the app and familiarize with navigation. By the end of the tutorial you would have created your first sample work!

Canva's Basic Tutorial

DESIGN CHOICESYour starting point to creating a new

design.

Choices are specific to the intended media where the graphics will be used

Click on a desired layout to start working on a new design.

EDITING TOOLS

Editing Tools: Layouts

Browse and choose from Canva's collection of layouts.

Click a layout to begin.

Click the text or background image to edit.

Clicking an item displays the available options.

Options appeared on top after clicking the background image.

Press the 'Filter' option to see available filters in this thumbnail view.

Adjust brightness and contrast from these settings.

Editing Tools: Search

Use the search tool to find specific graphics to add to your design.

Example: 'heart'.

Click the image to edit, resize, tilt, drag into position, or adjust transparency.

Editing Tools: Background

You can select a background color or pattern from the thumbnails.

OR customize a background by adding more text and graphics of your choice.(Refer to next slide)

Editing Tools: Text

Choose text from the thumbnails with pre-existing font and format.

Drag and drop to your desired spot.

Adjust transparency.

Modify the color, size, andContent.

Editing Tools: Upload

Upload and use your own photo from your camera roll, previously uploaded files, or facebook account.

Your work gets saved automatically.

You can see whether saving is in progress or if it's already saved through this status.

When you go back to the main page, you will see all of your previously saved works.

And now you have the basic know-how

of using Canva!
