The value of presentations
euroCRIS line of thought:
- In difficult economic times, attending events often gets very hard...
- However, events are key for sharing and exchanging ideas – events is often where progress is made
- Could something be done about this?
- euroCRIS not a university nor a research centre: outputs mainly event presentations and occasionally conference papers
- Why not putting them all together in an Open Access platform?

Content discoverability
euroCRIS line of thought:
- A platform with appropriate metadata and well-formed, persistent URLs would provide euroCRIS outputs far more visibility
CRIS2014 – euroCRIS Membership Business Meeting, Rome, May 12th, 2014
Valuable materials
euroCRIS line of thought:
- This platform could host outputs from events organised by euroCRIS...CRIS conferencesMembership MeetingsStrategic Seminars...
- … plus information from related events with euroCRIS participationResearch Information ManagementResearch Data Management

Merging repository and CRIS functionality
euroCRIS line of thought:
- Such a platform could be an Open Access repository – however, in order to be consistent with euroCRIS mission, it would need to be CERIF-compliant and
provide basic CRIS features as well

Opportunities for providing useful information
CRIS2014 – euroCRIS Membership Business Meeting, Rome, May 12th, 2014
euroCRIS line of thought:
- By collecting info about member organisations maps could be produced eg for event attendance or contributions
- Opportunities for (mid-term) widening platform coverage to other RIM initiatives very much based on events and presentations (such as VIVO or ORCID) thus
providing a far-reaching RIMsubject-specific platform
A request to the community:
- Please participate by reviewing your personal items / suggesting new ones(right presentation version, accurate abstracts...)
