Citing Database Articles

Use the toolbar beside the article to see the suggested citation for the article. Make sure you choose the right style; MLA for your English classes.

If your database doesn’t have a suggested citation, return to the Library homepage and click “Citations” and then “Easy Bibliography Maker”.

Select MLA Style and the type of article you are citing.

Here’s what the form looks like after I’ve added the information from my article and here’s my Works Cited entry.

"Campaign Calls for Patriot Act Reforms." American LibrariesSept.-Oct. 2013: 8-9. Academic Search Premier. Web. 10 June 2014.

Now, all I have to do is to save my citation to copy and paste to my Works Cited page when I’m ready.

Don’t forget to alphabetize, double space, and use hanging indents for the Works Cited page.

If you are not sure of the format, consult your style manual.
