This coming May, some 25 senior earth science students from across Canada will converge on the Greater Sudbury area for

the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada’s annual Student-Industry Mineral Exploration Workshop

PDAC Introduces Students to Real World of Mineral Exploration

The two-week, all expenses-paid gathering, which runs from May 8 to May 22, will give

the students, hand-picked from post secondary institutions across the country,

an opportunity to experience the many facets of the mineral exploration industry,

and to polish their networking skills.

Networking

Students participate in an intensive agenda of workshop sessions chaired by industry leaders, field activities that include mine site visits, and dinners and networking

events with industry members.

Topics covered during the two weeks include career opportunities in the mineral exploration industry, geological mapping, health and safety, sustainability and the

public markets.

Students take field trips outside Sudbury to world-class mining and mineral camps (Val

d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda, Cobalt), and have exposure to the Sudbury Basin and the

numerous mines of the nickel camp.
