Defoamers
e = Aqueous emulsionpoa = Polyoxalkylene technologyfsi = Few silicone
Defoamerssurface active agents (surfac tants) especially emulsifi
ers, wetting and dispersing agents are used to emulsify
and stabilize hydrophobic substances e.g. binder parti
cles,pigmentsandfillers inwaterbasedprinting inks.
These surfactants tend to create foam by stabilizing
incorporated air in aqueous systems, that can lead to
problems during the production as well as the applica
tion of water based printing inks.
When selecting a suitable defoamer, special attention
has to be paid to the balance between defoaming
efficiencyandcompatibilitywith theprinting ink.Our
broad range of defoamers and deaerators based on dif
ferent chemical technologies enables us to offer you
the optimal defoamer for each type and application of
your water based printing inks.

Waxes and micronized waxes High quality print products, which are being produ ced by
gravure printing, require waxes with very good scratch
and abrasion resistance, as well as very good processing
properties for high volume printing. mÜNZING provides
products with very small particle sizes for packaging
and publication inks, which have been adapted in chem
istry to achieve these requirements.

Coated waxesour latest technology enables us to coat our spherical
micronized waxes! our functional blends coated with
very fine PTFE particles, CERETAN MXF 9510 D and
CeReTAN MXF 9820 D, are the best selling grades for
solvent based inks. Coating a wax is only possible with
our spraying technology, because the PTFe needs to be
coated on the still soft surface of the wax at the right
moment in order for the PTFe to stick onto the surface of
the wax.
