Self Management Skills
Results-oriented• By growing the market
share of my area's sales by 1.9% during a very tough time in the industry, the dealerships I managed were able to order more vehicles, which increased profits for General Motors.
Multi-tasking • I manage the purchasing
and selling of 5 different vehicle divisions to 34 dealerships requires excellent multi-tasking skills.
Self Management Skills cont.
Team player• Always willing to help a
team member in need and not afraid to ask for help when I need it.
Dependable • I am only aware of two sick
days I have taken in the recent past. They were both taken at in 2005 when I had the flu. I have since gotten yearly flu shots.
Well-organized• Firm believer in writing out
daily goals/tasks and documenting conversations (very helpful when I am on the phone all day).
Problem solving ability • Making the company a
profit during an extremely difficult time for the automotive industry has taught me that any problem is solvable if you work smart and not just hard.
Self Management Skills cont.
Quick learner• A few months after starting
at my current position, I scored higher anyone in the office on a District Manager Aptitude test even though I had just recently started.
Trustworthy• Entrusted with numerous
confidential information and trained on best practices in this area.
Self Management Skills cont.
Transferable Skills Negotiating• Regularly negotiating with
dealerships on what product to take while persuading them to enroll in GM specific contests/programs.
Increasing sales• Successfully increased the
market share in my area and ended up in the top 89th percentile of 96 District Managers during my first year.
Budget control• Each dealership has it's own
budget. This budget dictates how much a dealership can purchase from me. I help them to find the proper mix of product that will increase their profits while fitting into their budget.
Instructing others• General Motors trains me
on each and every new type of sale/contest/program and it is my job to educate my 34 dealers on all of these changes.
Transferable Skills cont.
In Conclusion• I have many self management skills I have
developed from life experiences, education, and careers.
• My self management skills have helped me to develop specific transferable skills that can be used in any field.
