Law and you
What is law?
Laws = a fact of life.
Parliament makes laws.
Laws regulates society.
Justice = peace.
Everybody has rightsthat need to be respected.
Courts arbitrate the law
Between disputing parties
Judges should not be biased.
Laws should be fair.
Injustice causes protest.

Laws need to be enforced
Police enforce public laws
Citizens can sue toenforce their rights
Lawyers represent parties
Lawyers are pleaders.
The adversarial system
The judge cannot descend into the arena; he will be clouded by the arguments. The judge must remain impartial.
