Is ‘Unsolicited’ Guest Posting About toDie?

What’s in store for guest bloggers in 2013, and beyond?

[Makes me wonder .....]

ProBlogger’s Halt on Guest Post Submissions ….

It’s Experiment Time at DailyBlogTips as well -

“I thought about it and decided to run an experiment in 2013: I won’t be publishing guest posts anymore and will write all the posts myself (so be warned: you are stuck with my ramblings now!).”

Daniel Scocco Founder, DailyBlogTips.com

Sometime ago, CopyBlogger.com and SmashingMagazine.com made a similar shift in their guest posting strategies.

They stopped accepting unsolicited guest post submissions.

They turned invite-only.

But, why are all these A-list bloggers stopping to accept unsolicited guest post submissions (after so many years of starting their blogs)?

Common reasons include –1. It’s lots of hard work

dealing with loads of submissions they receive.

2. Most of the guest posts they get are low-quality and irrelevant, submitted by SEO and marketing companies.

3. They plan to provide readers with more focused and in-depth articles.

4. They plan to take readers on a journey over time.

Getting guest posts published, even if you have something really unique to share, on A-list blogs is already a hard nut to crack.

Once published, however, it proves to be a boon for budding bloggers. A golden opportunity to get noticed quickly.

The natural way.

The halt on unsolicited guest post submissions by A-list bloggersis a new or semi-popular blogger’s nightmare.

Well, no hard feelings. They have complete freedom to make their own decisions, choose their path as they please.

It’s fine.

It’s only that even real authors have to pay the

pricefor

what low-value spammers are doing !

But, the biggest worry is this

Everybody else starts to follow suit, as more and more A-list bloggers go on to stop unsolicited guest post submissions?

What if ..
