Transform your business.
It’s what forms intelligence and powers profits.
It is a valuable — and valued — asset across
enterprises. It is critical to pursuing opportunities,
gaining a competitive advantage and enhancing
profitability. But while all companies use information,
they struggle with how to communicate effectively,
how to collaborate easily, how to exchange information
securely and how to improve business processes.
Information.It’s the lifeblood of business.
Now more than ever, business moves at breakneck speed.
Decisions need to be made at a rapid pace. Deadlines seem
to appear on the calendar faster than before. And always with
the need to focus on reducing risk while controlling costs. On
top of all that, you find yourself spending hours searching for that
one critical document that needs to be analyzed or shared or
communicated for an audit or project or deal. Rifling through
files, desks, or computers. Sending via email, fax, Fedex or even by
messenger. Across departments, across geographies, across companies. And then critical information gets lost. Privileged
documentation somehow becomes public. Collaboration
is impeded. The process itself is a barrier to getting things done.
Is this any way to manage a mission-critical project?
Let IntraLinks transform the way you do business. Exchange critical information safely. Guide your collaboration.
Organize and protect your documentation. Standardize your
business processes. Inside and outside company walls.

with your business and how you work. Locate, evaluate and filter
relevant information, enabling faster business decisions. Search for
information easily, finding answers as quickly as you need them.
Documents are controlled and tracked so you know who is looking at
your information, when they are looking and how they are using it.

Energizing Partnership Negotiations
An advanced biofuels developer needed a new approach to developing a partnership with one of the world’s largest energy companies. The traditional practice of photocopying documents and organizing them into binders to mail, or burning CDs for distribu-tion, was not cost effective, timely or secure. With limited time avail-able, the company needed to efficiently leverage its capabilities and scale its resources to keep in step with its potential partner.
To create the ground-breaking par tnership, the biofuels devel-oper managed the negotiations with IntraLinks’ on-demand solution. IntraLinks enabled the biofuels developer to control the exchange of critical information from multiple locations, while maintaining confi-dences. It also enabled the company to
gather important intelligence along the way, helping solidify the partnership.
The ability to manage the process and respond to the energy company’s needs helped build mutual confidence in each
other. In just six weeks—half the time it would have taken with a tra-
ditional solution—the two companies finalized negotiations. The partnership
marked the first large-scale collaboration between an established player and an industry
upstart to jointly develop technology to turn cellulosic biomass into ethanol fuel.

Building a More Efficient Deal Process
One of the largest owners, develop-ers and managers of Class ‘A’ office properties in Southern California had traditionally eschewed technology, preferring to stick with its familiar paper-intensive ways. When a deal developed, the transaction team would verify they had all the information they needed, create an index for the paper dataroom and then make the documents available for review by potential buyers.
The task proved daunting and time-intensive. A typical transaction required two weeks just to prepare for market, and a full 70 days to close. Such long deal times hindered the company’s ability to react quickly to market opportunities. Additionally, the resources required strained the company’s small team. It realized it needed an online platform for the exchange of critical deal informa-tion and chose IntraLinks’ on-demand solution.
as a result, transaction times were slashed from 70 days to 30 while exponentially increasing deal sizes. Further, the company started using IntraLinks to streamline a variety of corporate processes from audits to joint venture projects, replacing time spent doing administrative work with high-value contributions towards the company’s success.

Insuring Successful Collaboration
With collaboration a requirement for success, a leading insurance company relies on a bevy of subject matter experts both inside and outside the company when conducting buy-side due dili-gence. Because it must quickly tap into experts’ insights on transactions, it needed a better solu-tion for the deal teams, who are spread across corporate functions and geographic regions, to easily collaborate on transactions, and to exchange critical information inside and outside the company.
Use of email and internal shared drives for collaboration was common. However, email proved cumbersome and inefficient and lacked security safeguards as well.
The insurance giant chose IntraLinks for the exchange of its critical information, creating a way for deal teams to instantaneously communicate to everyone working on the deal, regardless of location. Both internal and external advisors and experts use the document reposi-tory to access and post information, including findings, analysis and intel-lectual capital.
the ability to organize, house and share key docu-ments instantaneously shaves weeks off the process and saves thou-sands of man hours. IntraLinks has helped transform the company’s M&A activity into a
more effective and efficient process.

Funding Relief with an Online Solution
A pharmaceutical leader wanted to license the rights to a drug product with limited portfolio fit. While common practice in the pharma-ceutical industry, licensing a drug requires a thorough due diligence process. The company needed to provide potential licensees with all relevant documents, including the New Drug Application (NDA) and related pending patent applications. This meant assembling, organizing and presenting 30,000 to 40,000 pages of confidential information.
The company called on IntraLinks to provide a more efficient way to communicate with a broader community of potential partners than traditional due diligence methods. This freed up company executives’ time so they could concentrate on their business while numerous suitors evaluated the deal.
One hundred companies were contacted to gauge their interest in buying or licensing the drug. Numerous suitors were inter-ested. Potential buyers conducted their due diligence simultaneously through IntraLinks critical information exchange, shortening the deal timeline. IntraLinks’ valuable features protected the anonymity of interested parties, controlled access to sensitive information and allowed the pharmaceutical leader to track the process closely. In the end, a buyer was found in just six weeks, half the time it would have taken with a traditional approach.
