Beautiful Data was a summer institute held at metaLAB (at) Harvard with support from the Getty Foundation from June 16-27, 2014.
It brought together an elite group of museum professionals to address the complexities of working with open collections through a
range of discussions, activities, and projects.
The prototyping exercise is based on a game from Beautiful Data.

Prototyping Exercise - ProvocationHow is your smartphone you? How would you communicate to someone who does not know about what the device is or how it works?
In this exercise we will consider the smartphone as a microcosm of the museum - as collection of data and digital assets that document one’s personal and professional lives. We’ll use museum based methods of interpretation to explore these meanings and relationships.
