CLEANING THE CANAL

Issue

The water canal was a secondary source of water to the Manjakollai village.

Water from the canal was used for washing, bathing and other secondary purposes.

The canal was polluted with weeds, plants and other dust making it less usable.

Action Taken

Children gave petition to the village Panchayat .

Improper response urged the children to take up the issue themselves.

They initiated and cleared weeds and plants from vital parts of the canal.
