CONTENT

The immunity test method and range of test level applies to electrical/electronic equipment which:

Irated ≤ 16A/phase for connection to 50Hz/60Hz ac network

IEC 61000 -4-11

TEST & MEASURE

VOLTAGE DIPS/SAG

SHORT INTERRUPTION

VOLTAGE VARIATION

Sudden reduction in voltage below specified dip threshold

short period of time, follow by recovery to the original voltage

VOLTAGE DIPS/SAG

Decreased below specified interruption threshold Consider as voltage dip to zero. Usually not more then 1 minute Followed by recovery to original voltage

SHORT INTERRUPTION

Change in voltage continuouslyVOLTAGE VARIATION

Continuously varying load connecting to network

CAUSES OF VOLTAGE VARIATION

Short circuit (eg. SLG) Sudden large change of load

CAUSES OF DIP & INTERRUPTION

CASE EXAMPLE

For equipment that has Vrated range; if the voltage range do not exceed 20% of the lower Vrated, a single voltage may be specified as test level UT

TEST LEVEL

CONSIDER ANNEX B (CLASSES) & TABLE BEFORE TESTING

Class 1 – compatibility level < public network level◦ Sensitive disturbance to ps (ups necessary)

Class 2 - compatibility level = public network level Class 3 - compatibility level > public network level

◦ Large motor frequently start◦ Welding machines are present◦ Major part of the load is fed trough converter◦ Load vary rapidly

For 3 phase short interruption, it shall be tested simultaneously

3 phase

Single phase

3 phase

changes in supply voltage shall occur at zero crossing

Addition angel selected from 45º, 90º, 180º,225º,270º and 315º if necessary.

Test 1 by 1 phase

Recommended to use 0º for 1 of the phases

THE TEST

ADDITIONAL ANGEL OR PHASE SHIFT

Output voltage of generator at no load: 80% of nominal value verified in maximum duration of 5s

70% and 40% of nominal value verified in maximum duration of 3s

Power source within ±2% of frated

Shortest ps cable as specified by EUT manufacturer
