DESCRIPTION
Idea Market is a competition-based platform that motivates young students in Taiwan to gain experience in innovation and entrepreneurship. There are three groups involved: challenge proposers (companies), ideators (high school and college students), and bidders (members of the general public). After companies propose challenges on Idea Market, students are given the opportunity to brainstorm and submit innovative ideas. In the preliminary rounds, the general public will vote by bidding on ideas they think the company will choose. In each round, a proportion of ideas will be eliminated. For the final round, the challenge proposer (company) will choose the winners. This structure creates a win-win-win situation. Students win: the students whose ideas are chosen by the challenge proposer earn money (from the bidders) and connections with companies; furthermore, all students who enter gain ideation experience and motivation to be entrepreneurs. Bidders win: those who chose the right idea earn money, and all bidders contribute to the education of future entrepreneurs. Finally, the challenge proposer wins: gaining a fresh supply of new ideas for the challenge they set out to solve.
