As a skilled public strategist and facilitator, Robyn has transformed

communities with her creative approaches to “public” building. In July 2012, Robyn became the Chief

Executive of Kenya Property Developers Association (KPDA) –

Kenya’s apex membership organisation.

Community involvement is something Robyn is passionate about. Speaking out on issues that affect your local

area harnesses the power we have as community members. Her vast

experience across Kenya and America has shown her that sometimes one person is the spark that encourages

others with similar ideas.

“It’s not enough to be at the top of

your career, individual experience is as

– if not more – important as

professional development. If you

continually focus on your purpose

within that job you will keep your drive

and passion.”

“Our purpose in life comes naturally to

us. We then have to stop and reflect

and ask ourselves whether we are

answering it. We have to make sure

that every action is an expression of

who we really are inside. ”

FAILURE

“Failures are not mistakes, failures just

aren’t celebrated enough. Failures

often take you to where you need to

go, showing you what you need to do

differently in the future.”

“Transformations happen when you

fail, and transformation is integral to

growth. Sometimes when things work,

we just nod and step back, failing to

ask...what else could it do?”

“People’s expectations can sometimes

define you, and how things should

work. It’s more important though to

find your own expectations of yourself,

and be clear about how that will work

for you and the people in your life.”

ABOUT ROBYN

As a skilled public strategist and facilitator, Robyn has transformed communities with

her creative approaches to “public” building.  With over 20 years experience in political

and community organizing and eight years as a strategic developer, Robyn is able to

develop and deliver progressive community concepts working with people of a range of

skills, interests and ages.  She holds a B.A. in Business Management from Huston-

Tillotson University and a M.S. in Community, Regional & International Planning from

the University of Texas both in Austin. Robyn brings to her work openness,

thoughtfulness, simple brilliance, passion and hope.

She co-founded Kilimani speaks and is currently the C.E.O. Kenya Property Developers

Association.
