An instruction touches thousands simultaneously, hard drives analyze around the world a million answers even faster, flying offers, operations born, rates changing, purchases, sales ...

…Only seconds and fortunes are born, fortunes die.

The East bleeds with wars born of ancient hatreds and rancorous gods. Nations dead from thirst and hunger…

…Europe tightening with immigrants fleeing these wars, that thirst, that hunger…

…América Española trembles at the vengeance of insects carrying the blood, ending the childhood…

…The Asian Giant exploits like fish stocks the human beings who breathe fumes they do not see ...

…North America throbs before a world that gazes with envy and hope….

…The world heats, the mists thicken, the snow

melts. Green forests retreat against

unforgiving cement, and the rivers die: puffs of

mercury in barren lands...

…Furnaces burn and wheeled monsters exhale breath that destroys, that kills ... the sun takes revenge, burning us … mercilessly …

…and we, pale, dejected, take refuge between thick walls…

…Yet, reason peeks around the wall. A tenacious human spirit encourages ...

... I see a city beyond the gates of the Apocalypse. Men work with men and for men, science cools the exhalations of monsters, feeds them not with the unearthed fossils, the dark wealth from the wounded East…
