SWOT ANALYSIS OF ORGANIC FARMING

IN INDIA

STRENGTH• Organic farming has developed rapidly in recent years and now has a market value of over $26 billion• Organic farms have lower costs of production than conventional farms

Organic food is better than chemically-grown food in all respects, including taste, flavour and for theirown health, besides that of the

earth.

WEAKNESS• Indians are mostly - and very strangely so - unconcerned about the quality of the food they consume.

OPPORTUNITY

The organic industry is still developing, and the

infrastructure in terms of transportation systems,

wholesalers and distributers is in its infancy

India currently has only 1,426 certified organic farms.

Precision farming would be the h rt of

my scheme
