Policy Changes

The policies stated in this handbook may change from time to time, but no person other than an owner/manager of the Company has the authority to change or modify a policy.

Any change or modification must be in writing, and will be signed/dated (verified) by the owner/manager.

Revisions

Revisions on pages and policies may be distributed to you periodically. All revisions will be dated signed by the manager/owner.

These new revisions will now take place of the old pages or policies in this handbook.

It is your responsibility to know these policies once they are distributed and in your hands.

The Purpose of This Handbook

This handbook will serve as your guide to knowing and understanding our Company policies and procedures that affect your everyday employment.

This handbook as mentioned, is solely for your personal purpose.

It is a guide, to know what is expected from you as an employee and that we promise to uphold to you as your employer.

 This handbook is not intended to contain all of the Company policies and procedures but is to be used to acquaint yourself with general rules and policies and referred to whenever questions of this nature come up.

If the meaning of a policy or statement is not clear, please contact the department manager for further clarification.

Our Legacy

Angelia Mazzone was born in Naples Italy in 1908.

In the year 1919, she owned and operated a small restaurant by the name of “Angelina’s” for all of the locals, providing them with wholesome, delicious meals

In 1965 she became ill and the business was left to her children.

Angelina’s daughter Gloria took over in 1969

Gloria took over ownership, ensuring her costumer’s the same devotion and love her mother had given to them and put into the food.

Gloria expanded the business to what is now “All Glorious Catering.”

Probationary Period

New employees subject to 90 day “trial period” Trial period is intended to provide both parties

with an opportunity to see if relationship is a good fit.

Employee has opportunity to demonstrate his or her attributes/skills.

Company may terminate your employment at anytime during this period.

Upon satisfactorily completing trial period, employee becomes a regular employee of All Glorious Catering.

Days accrued during this time will be available to the employee.

Performance Evaluations

& Salary Reviews Conducted Yearly Gauge employees job performance and set goals for next

review period Can result in change in pay, but not always Salary review- consider attendance, level of performance,

responsibilities and efficiency 

Performance evaluations may be conducted upon completion of 90-Day Probationary Period.

Wages and Salaries may be reviewed at any time when an employee exceeds expectations and/or merits promotion.

Management determines the amount of salary increase.

Employee Benefits

Eligibility- Employed Full Time (average of 30 hrs per week) At least 21 years of age

Health Plan Eligible employees can participate in one of our

health insurance plans. Costs vary depending on plan selected. 

401K Retirement Plan Detailed information about plan will be available

on the day of hire.

Employee Benefits

Paid Vacation 10 days each year Accrued from date of hire. If you terminate employment during probationary

period, you are not eligible for payment of vacation days upon termination. 

Sick/Personal Days 12 sick days per year. Accrue 1 sick day per month. 4 personal days per year. Accrue 1 personal day per

quarter.

Personal Leave

Death.

Family Illness.

Personal Health Issues,

Employees must be employed for a minimum of 1 year.

Military Leave

Enlists or is recalled to active duty for more than 14 days.

Employees returning from military are eligible for re-employment.

Bereavement Leave

For a period no more than 5 days, unpaid.

Death of an immediate family member.

Spouse, Parent, Child, Sibling etc…

Alcohol Free Workplace

Alcohol consumption is prohibited at any time during work, break, or rest periods.

Subject to disciplinary action, at managements discretion.

Harassment Policy

Ensure and maintain a working environment for employees that is free from general and/or sexual harassment. 

Zero tolerance for any form of harassment by any person.

Disciplinary Procedures

The company reserved the right to terminate employees without prior warning for serious actions determined to be inappropriate or detrimental to the business interests of All Glorious Catering under our policy of employment-at-will.

The usual progression is as follows: Verbal Warning/ counseling Written warning Final written warning and/ or suspension or

probation Termination

Communication

An important part of the All Glorious Catering philosophy is to promote open communication between management and employees. Your supervisor will try to keep you informed of how they feel you are performing; in return, you should bring to their attention any questions you have about your job and generally let them know how you feel about your position.

Open Door Policy

 All Glorious Catering wants to hear your suggestions.

If you know a better way to do a certain procedure, please let your idea be known.

Leaving The Building

For safety and security reasons, it is not permitted for you to leave the property while on duty.

This includes going to your car for any reason, without permission from the on-duty manager.

Safety & Sanitation

Safe and sanitary work practices are essential for the protection of customers and employees. Unsafe practices such as those listed below will not be tolerated and violations of these policies will be cause for disciplinary action up to and including dismissal:

Placing detergents, insecticides, chemical etc. near food or food supplies. 

Sneezing or coughing over food. Chewing gum while near and/ or preparing food.  Failure to wash hands after brakes, smoking, eating, using

the bathroom, telephone, or touching hair, nose, mouth or face while serving food.

Water Pollution

Everyone must be careful not to put waste food, grease, or hazardous materials in sinks or floor drains. These materials must be properly disposed of in accordance with labeling instructions or as stated on The Metropolitan Sewer District (MSDS) sheets. Grease and other cooking oils are to be disposed of using specially designed containers to avoid unnecessary water pollution. This information can be found at www.msds.com.

Hazardous & Toxic Chemicals

Employees are not to use any potentially hazardous material or chemical without being trained in the safe handling and use procedures for each material you may have occasion to use in your work.

Resignation/Termination

If you must resign voluntarily, the company would appreciate at least two weeks (10 days) written notice to give us time to find and train a replacement.

Employees who do not report to work for three (3) consecutive days and have not contracted their supervisor or Department Manager will be considered to have voluntarily resigned their position and are subject to immediate termination for job abandonment.

* Upon resignation/termination of your employment with the All Glorious Catering the following policies will apply.

Compensation

If you resign or are dismissed, you will be paid up until your last day worked on the next regularly scheduled pay day, or no later than 14 days after your last day worked, whichever comes first.

Paid Vacation Time

For employees who have completed a minimum of one year of service, unused vacation time in compensable upon resignation, provided the employee has given adequate notice (usually a minimum of one weeks)

Insurance

You may continue your medical insurance coverage for you and your dependents under COBRA or other applicable laws.

Leave of Absence

Personal Leave: Take time off work for immediate personal reasons.

Military leave : Employee’s whom are recalled to active duty are allowed to take a leave of absence and qualify for re-employment upon return.

Pay Day & Overtime

Pay Days: Direct Deposit Option Paycheck distributed bi-weekly

Overtime: Time worked exceeding 40 hours in a work week Overtime must be approved Hourly Rate is double regular rate

Time keeping Procedures

Employees must keep a record of all hours worked in each day of the week.

Hours must be documented in the company’s computerized timekeeping system which can be accessed at all times.

Employees must “clock” in at the beginning of the shift.

Errors in times worked in a week must be claimed one week from date of error.

No altering of times will be tolerate.

Selected meals will be 50% off in the kitchen

No Meals during Peak Times

No Drinking During Shift

Two alcohol drinks half off for employees out of uniform off shift.

Smoking/Phone Calls

Smoking: Smoke in Designated area. NO smoking in food preparation area.

Telephone Calls: No Cell phone Use on shift. Emergency phone calls allowed on company

phone. Un related calls will be dismissed.

Appearance

Good Personal Hygiene.

Wear neat clean Uniform.

Hair must be clean and meet health codes.

Perfume and cologne must be light.

Make up must be neat and clean.

Personal Property

Lockers for each employee for company use items.

Cell phones are permitted if left on silent.

Company is not liable for lost and stolen personal property.

Change In Personal Information

Updating personal information is important.

Any changes in personal information must be reported immediately.

Employees are responsible for their personal information to be up to date.

Lost & Found

All items found must be reported to supervisors.

Found Item will be held for claiming.

After 25 Days the item will be returned to finder.

Theft

Suspected thieves must be reported immediately.

Employees whom steal will be terminated.

Employees must ensure customers and fellow employees do not steal.

Alcohol Service

Bartenders and Servers must be respectful.

ID checks must be performed on customers whom appear younger than 25.

ID cards must be checked for authenticity.

Customers may not exceed alcohol capacity.

Record Keeping of Orders

Company Computer Registry.

All orders must be recorded.

All Records must be printed by end of day.

Employees may not alter data.

Uniforms & Appearance

All employees will be wearing business casual or professional attire at all times unless otherwise required by your specific job. A presentable employee impresses our customers and will set us apart from the competition in our field.

In accordance with uniform, employees are expected to be well groomed at all times unless religion or personal beliefs (such as supporting “no shave November”) otherwise opposes so.

Attire is to be neat and clean at all times.

Employees are expected to maintain good personal hygiene

Tattoos should not be regularly visible by customers and facial piercings must be removed during work hours.

Meetings

Daily meetings within your team.

Weekly meetings within your department.

Quarterly meetings involving the entire company.

Accounting Inventory

All food and beverages must be accounted for before they are released from the kitchen. There must be a requisition printed for every item ordered.

Those employees who release inventory without requisition will be subject to disciplinary action that will usually include being accountable (paying for) the items released but not accounted for.

Cell Phone, Internet & Social Media

Business phone lines are operated by employees for professional purposes and are not for the use of personal calls.

Employees are expected to refrain from unnecessary texting and cell phone calls while in the workplace. No phone calls or messages are to be taken while in any meetings.

Those who operate employee computers are not allowed to be partaking in any type of social media while on the job.

The workplace has no need for social media.

Energy Conservation & Recycling

Turn off lights when they are not necessary.

Turn off all office equipment when not needed.

Use conservative thermostat settings.

Turn off all faucets and sinks completely after use.

Recycle all bottles, plastic, cardboard, and any other items that fit the appropriate recycling bins.

Housekeeping

Every employee is responsible and required to keep their workplace clean and organized.

Whether using the employee or public restroom, employees must be sure to leave all facilities clean when leaving them.

Pick up small garbage off the floor and replace towels and tissues if they are empty.

Have a sense of pride in maintaining your area.

Use of Company Vehicle

Permission must be obtained from the general manager and company vehicles must be signed out and back in once returned.

Fuel purchases must have legitimate receipts provided for them in order for employees to be reimbursed.

Motor vehicle records will be checked before allowing a company vehicle to be used; no violations may be permitted in the past year.

Use of Company Vehicle

Moving violations must be reported to a supervisor and are the responsibility of the driver, not the company.

Accidents must be reported immediately and are grounds for permanent termination. Management will investigate and review all

accidents to determine the fault of the employee and the disciplinary action, if any, that needs to be taken

Failure to report an accident will result in disciplinary action, including ground for immediate termination
