OPEX – FUEL SAVINGS Typically, every 100 vehicles can save as much as $100K annually from non-operational IDLE-Time. Fuel penalty = 2.5 – 4.5 litres per / hour. Have your GPS provider run a report to identify potential savings.

HIGH IDLE-Time Impact 6 hours of IDLE-Time per day = 15,000 simulated miles. Conclusion: after 100 days the engine oil actually has 20,000 miles of wear. If the scheduled maintenance were based on engine hours instead of miles driven, oil changes would be required approximately every 30 days.
