INTRODUCTION

My love of motorsport begins in the 50 s

In those years, held in Barcelona The Peña Rhin Grand Prix Formula One. In the garaje of the house he lived were kept racing cars from Grand Prix, and i had chance to see them closely

Also my father took me to watch races on the Pedralbes Circuit in Barcelona City.

My family had a car repair workshop, specializing in shock absorbers, and many riders went through this w.s. to prepare their race cars

Finished my studies in the late 60s followed the family bussiness on my own in a new workshop and Technical Assistance departament at the races.

From that time i have always been linked to the automotive world

CIRCUIT DE CATALUNYA (MONTMELO)

The Circuit de Barcelona is a motorsport track in Montmeló Barcelona (Spain).

With long straights and a variety of corners , The Circuit de Catalunya is seen an all-rounder circuit. The track has stands with a capacity of 140700 per. The circuit has FIA Grade 1 License.

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was built in 1991 and began hosting the Spanish Grand Prix that same year. Construction also coincided with the Olympic Games scheduled to take place in Barcelona the next year, where the circuit acted as the start and finish line for the road team time trial cycling event. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya should not be confused with the Montjuïc circuit, which hosted the Spanish Grand Prix four times between 1969 and 1975 and, unlike the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, is actually located within the city of Barcelona. Because so much testing is done at this circuit, Formula One drivers and mechanics are extremely familiar with it. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya also plays host to many other racing series, including MotoGP.

The September 10, 1991, after five years of construction, inaugurated The Circuit Of Catalunya They inaugurated Day of inaguriacion

SPONSORSHIP

With the celebration of international races in Spain, becoming interested manufacturers of auto parts to settle in our country. British manufacturer of shock absorbers Armstrong constructs a factory in Gijon (Asturias), called BULNES SA Armstrong Uk manufactured shock absorbers for the automotive industry and for racing cars .In the 60's formula cars they used the Armstong coil overs which had the adjustment knob on the side

One model was the most successful version: Road holder

In this decade, in our workshop Urgell street in Barcelona, we manufactured and were repairing shock absorbers. So we made a deal with the manufacturer to distribute its shock absorbers Armstrong in the after market, and in the motorsport.

In the Grand Prix of Formula One in the 60s, Armstrong shifts its technical assistance service, working in collaboration with our technicians.

In those years I felt a great passion for motorsport, with my father at sporting events, and myself starting to practice the motorsport.

In March 1968 we opened a new workshop, specialized in suspension, steering, brakes, wheels and tires, and also in motorsport.

In May 1968 it is presented in the “CLUB 4 CV” Diagonal Street (Barcelona), the new racing service, called : SERVICIO DE COMPETICION ARMSTRONG/J.SOLER/NECTO. In the presentation attended by numerous journalists, cars riders , and representatives of the automotive industry. Born with the philosophy of helping the world of motorsport, drivers and teams on the following points : -technical assistance in our own workshop -technical assistance at the races -free provision of parts and accessories -financial contribution -creating awards, challengues ... to help promote the motorsport

-This service was created by our company J.SOLER with ARMSTRONG (Schok absorbers) ) and NECTO (brakes) -As director of the service incorporated the popular rider Ramon Rossines, and Arturo Manzano as technical responsible, assisted by Juan Ortiz. The service had its headquarters in the street Urgell 208 Barcelona and two vehicles to race assistance

Since 1885 Avon has been producing tyres for highway use, becoming synonymous with some of the great British marques such as Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Land Rover and Caterham who fit Avon tyres as original equipment. Avon’s involvement in motorsport dates back to the 1950’s. The highlight of this era was the winning of the 1959 World Sports Car Championship with Aston Martin; including the Le Mans 24 Hour Race with Roy Salvadori and Carol Shelby at the wheel of car number 5. Avon returned to the manufacture of racing tyres in 1980. Since then, as one of the leading suppliers to the motorsport industry we have built a reputation for technical excellence

Avon racing tyres are now supplied to contracted series such as FIA Formula 2, Formula 3, British GT, Formula Ford, Caterham, SPEED Euroseries, British Formula 1 Side Car Championship, Hill Climb Championship and V de V. Along with many others our global distributors take care of almost every weekend of the year.

Since the beginning, the commitment to Motor Sport has been an essential part of the company philosophy. The first sport mufflers to leave the new factory in Bärnbach during spring 1991 already wore trade marks from motor sport participation within the National Rally Championship. Not only the vital image transfer from the “track to the street” was addressed, but also the technology transfer to ensure that customers receive the best possible sport exhaust for their cars.

In addition to many national and international rally commitments, also touring cars and formula cars were supported which lead to the association of the FORMULA 1 world Champion Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve. Today, REMUS is associated with many different motor sport projects as sponsor and R&D partner. Many well known drivers and teams such as Karl Wendlinger in the FIA GT1 Championship, Richard Lietz in the Le Mans Championship and Raimund Baumschlager in the National Rally Championship rely on REMUS know how. The continual transfer of technology from motor sport to the street and the outmost modern production facilities and standards guarantee sport mufflers & systems which are absolutely top notch.
