conventions. The interviewee is also placed to the right or left hand side of the screen.

Camera Work

Old fashioned style.Make-up for the music video.There are images of Meatloaf enlarged in the

background of the interviews. A green screen (chromakey) was used to create this effect.

Mese-En-Scene

Magazine and Newspaper cut-outs in background of media coverage of Meatloaf- Green screen used (chromakey)

Behind interviews- recording studio (mixing desk) which anchors the interviewee to the topic.

Crowds

Heart beat...Meatloaf songs playing in the background.Voiceover throughout is male, calm, clear,

quite sarcastic and the use of standard English- used to link everything and puts the narration together.

Sound

Zoom, tilting and panning- reading magazine headlines.

Dissolve- interviewee dissolves into picture. Montage- Related by theme, mainly of Meatloaf

at different interviews. Simple cut edits.

Editing

A lot of magazine articles that are based around media stories about Meatloaf, have been used as backgrounds.

Archive Material

The name of the person and relevance to the topic is always written inside a banner below with the interviewee. The name is often larger and capitalised and is placed either to the left or right of the screen during interviews and is written in a simple white font.

Graphics

There is the “Music Biz” logo that is shown in the beginning and end of the documentary- showing that this is the series of the programme and anchors the theme of the documentary.
