Creating the contents page proper

CREATING THE

CONTENTS PAGE

• The first stage of creating my first draft was the insertion of the EX masthead. This was done simply by inserting a red rectangle with the shape tool, I then used the text tool in the colour white font: Bradley Hand ITC. This again keeps the continuity of the magazine and a quality sealing.

• The second stage again involved using the text tool this is in the LATO font. From my research in all magazines the date is always above, this was inserted in a smaller size identical font.

• Next I again used the text tool inserting larger numbers beside the names of the articles within the magazine. The simplicity makes it easier to read therefore the articles are more easily accessible.

• I repeated the same stages to create the rest of the contents.

FIRST DRAFT

FEEDBACK ON DRAFT ONE

• These particular pieces of feedback fed in into the changes I made to the final draft. Both told me that my original draft needed the addition of images. Looking back I can see that this was indeed a mistake as the page looks empty and without character.

• Here I inserted two images of BEX this breaks up the page and again adds to the theme that the entire magazine is based around one star. These were simply taken from the photo shoot, these are more casual photos however and the brown on BEX’s hat matches the brown of the text.

FINAL DRAFT OF CONTENTS PAGE

CONSOLIDATING THE CONTENTS PAGE• In order to make sure there were no adjustments to be made to the final magazine I showed 30 people the final draft. There ages ranged from 8-42 my predicted target audience for the magazine. The pie chart below displays the results. The question was “Does this contents page appeal to you?” Due to the overwhelming support I decided to make the second draft my final copy.
