7 THINGSYou didn’t know

aboutflickr

Seven simple, useful flickr features many users are unaware of…

… but which can help make your use of the site easier and more enjoyable.

1. Swap imagesBad crop? Poor quality? Wrong file? Replace it without losing comments, faves, tags etc.

2. Share slideshows Email links to your slideshows to friends or embed them on your blog or site, just like a YouTube video or Picasa slideshow (you can even modify the HTML).

3. Create a photoblogGot a blog? Add it to your Flickr blog list, configure and update it with the latest pics uploaded to your account. Do the same with videos too. Easy.

4. See how popular you are Ever noticed that little graph? It gives you all the info you need if you want to know how many times your pics were viewed, which images are popular and even how people found them. Clever, eh?

5. Worried about image theft? In Your Account go to Privacy & Permissions and decide who can see, download, share, blog and print your pics. One less thing to worry about.

6. Get seen, get paidOn the other hand, maybe you want people to see your pictures? Make sure they are the right people! You can now make your photos eligible for invitation by Getty Images, one of the biggest photo agencies in the world.

7. Join groupsSo obvious. Talk, exchange ideas, see what others are doing, connect. There there are groups for everything. Can’t find them? Create one. It’s simple. Just like flickr itself….
