Robert Capa (born Friedmann Endre Ernő October 22, 1913 – May 25, 1954) was a

Hungarian war photographer and photojournalist who covered five different wars: the

Spanish Civil War, the Second Sino-Japanese War, World War II across Europe, the 1948

Arab-Israeli War, and the First Indochina War.

He documented the course of World War II in London, North Africa, Italy, the Battle of

Normandy on Omaha Beach and the liberation of Paris.

In 1947, Capa co-founded Magnum Photos in Paris with David "Chim" Seymour, Henri

Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger and William Vandivert. The organization was the first

cooperative agency for worldwide freelance photographers.

羅伯特·卡帕（ Robert Capa ， 1913 年 10 月 22日－ 1954 年 5 月 25日），原名安德魯·弗里德曼 (André Friedmann)。匈牙利裔美籍攝影記者，二十世紀最著名的戰地攝影記者之一。他參與報導過五場二十世紀的主要戰爭：西班牙內戰，中國抗日戰爭，二戰歐洲戰場 , 第一次中東戰爭以及第一次印支戰爭。

二戰期間，卡帕跟隨美軍報導了北非，義大利的軍事行動，諾曼第登陸中的奧馬哈海灘戰役以及巴黎的解放。卡帕被認為是「決定性瞬間」的集大成者之一，他的作品通過凝結瞬間再現了戰爭的殘酷和暴戾，突出表現在他的幾幅名作中。

卡帕的攝影內容主要是戰地攝影，他總是不顧生命危險，挺進戰場第一線，拍下最真實也最驚心動魄的戰爭畫面，卡帕參與過西班牙內戰、中國對日抗戰、第二次世界大戰、越戰等 20世紀主要戰爭的攝影工作，而他最後因為拍攝過程觸碰地雷，被炸死於越戰。

面對如此殘酷的人類戰爭，做為戰地攝影家的卡帕曾說，「我希望我一輩子都失業」，這句話深刻的表露出卡帕反對戰爭、愛好和平的理念，也因此，卡帕非常希望能夠透過他的作品，讓人們見證戰爭的慘烈。
